Are you tired of all the hype that surrounds social media? Are you tired of your direct sales sponsor telling you to make more phone calls…run more Facebook ads? Sometimes do you feel like saying; “I see your lips moving but all I hear is blah, blah, blah”?
If you are feeling this way…well you are not alone. You have a lot of company. Statistics have shown that by far, the majority of people in the direct selling industry never make any money and give up frustrated.
Actually, the direct selling industry is a very great way to make money, but it has its challenges. It takes a certain type of person to become successful in this business. Maybe you are one of those unique types of individuals and maybe you are not…
Social media is a great way to promote any type of business. Social media is all about being social. Making great connections, new friends and business partners is the foundation of social media. It is also a major component of success in any business venture.
My question is…is there another way? What if there was a way to develop a business and an income stream WITHOUT being required to network? What if there was a business opportunity out there that created a fair and balanced platform that everyone made money? Our first instinct is; “Wow! Now that would be cool!” Our next thought would be; “Nothing like that ever happens”…”If it is too good to be true then it probably is”. Hmmm…The skeptic in me comes alive.
What if there was a portal through which you could see each profitability day...it only required 2-3” of your time and you did NOT have to network it to share in the daily profits? Would this interest you? Of course it would, so click here and learn how you can start today to change your financial future. Learn how you can share in the daily profits of a fantastic company without EVER networking. Now this is truly empowering!

Google Stream and The "Bump"
In a previous post, I discussed setting up Circles in Google Plus. Now that you have set up your Circles, go back to the home screen to see the results. Below the profile picture you will see the choices of Stream. You can view your entire Stream at once (similar to Facebook) or by a particular Circle. (See the screen shot below)
There are two Stream options below your circles – Incoming and Notifications. Clicking Incoming will direct you to messages that have been sent by people outside of your Circles. Notifications will show you when people in your Circles have commented on something you have posted, or something you have commented on.
One of the great features of any Google product is Chat. It has been incorporated into Google Plus and sits in the familiar left-hand or bottom-right portion of the screen as is similarly found in Gmail. But Chat has recently changed. Previously, users with a lot of Circles and Chat contacts had the ability to enable chat for particular groups. If you wanted to connect with friends and family but not acquaintances you were able to do that. (See the screen shot below)
You no longer have this option. According to Google, the reason here you aren't able to invite Circles to chat now, is due to changes that they've made. They heard from users that Chat enabled Circles were confusing. Google took this feedback to give the user more control over who they chat with in Google+.
You’ll be required to explicitly invite people for them to appear in your Chat list. Simply type the person's email address into the chat search box and click “Invite to Chat”. A note will appear in their Chat list letting them know that you want to chat with them. Before you can Chat with someone, they must also add you to their Chat list. When you attempt to add individuals to Chat, you must use the email address of the individual you are inviting to Chat in order to successfully invite them. (See the creen shot below)
If you are using Google Plus in a Chrome browser, desktop notifications do not pop up when someone sends you a message like it would in Gmail. Posting a status update in Google Plus is not like sending a Tweet or updating Facebook. The core functions of an update are to present; photos, links, video and location. However, when you hit "share" it doesn't automatically post your message to everybody in your Circles. You have the option to decide which Circles your update is posted to, from individual groups to all Circles, to extended Circles, or just a single person.
Another interesting feature in the user stream is that conversations will surface back to the top of the feed when subsequent comments are made on a thread. According to Google developer Jean-Baptiste Queru, this is called"Bumping." Google Buzz has this same capability and it was also a feature of FriendFeed. Stream and Bumping are at the center of interaction in Google Plus. While there are other great features of Google Plus that we will discuss, your Stream is the most important part. This is what people follow you for…this is the attraction element and you must capitalize on this to build your following.

Using Your Personal Testimony to Drive Traffic…Does it Really Work?
How many “so-called” Internet gurus have given you the “perfect” way to drive traffic? Is there a perfect way to drive traffic?
I like to think that there are a number of ways that you can be effective driving traffic to your site, but there is one way that always stands out as a very effective way to promote your business and increase your organic traffic. It is through using the power of authenticity. This is not some “new age” strategy. It is a simple and straightforward way that people develop interest and build trust in what you are doing. Through the power of authenticity, people will see that you are real and that what you promote is real.
Whether you use Pay-Per-Click (PPC) methods, SEO, E-Zines & Forum Marketing, Email Marketing, Facebook Ads, or “key-word rich” blog posts…it all comes down to being authentic and establishing yourself as the “Trusted Authority”.
A great way to promote your-self in this authentic venue is through video. When people can see your facial expressions, your eyes and hear the tone of your voice, it becomes much easier for them to develop the necessary trust and desire to become a follower, a student, or better yet a potential business partner.
If you are looking for that very cool portal to develop your authenticity using the power of video marketing…there is no better time than right here and right now to begin. Just raise your hand to signal that you are ready. You will begin on a new path of empowered living.

The Ultimate Trick…On Halloween…Watch Out!
You have done it. I have done it. We all have done it on Halloween…”trick or treat”. Remember how much fun it was to get dressed up in costumes of various design with garish colors and go fill up your sack with candy.
Recently, I was doing some research and got caught up on a rabbit trail. Has that ever happened to you? You are researching one thing and go off on a tangent? Well, that rabbit trail was Halloween. About now you are thinking…here we go with the ghosts, jack-o-lanterns and ghouls…
No, I was quite surprised to discover some very disturbing information with regards to Halloween and what it represents. Halloween is a prime example of how Satan has and is using spiritualism to permeate lives of well meaning individuals, especially Christians. Halloween’s roots extend back almost 2000 years to the time of the Celts in an area now known as England. Now this is not the first time to see witchcraft or soothsaying. It has been well documented, as far back as Exodus in the Old Testament of the Bible. In the ceremonial laws, God told the Children of Israel this; “You shall not permit a sorceress to live”. Exodus 22:18 NKJV
God, very strongly, admonished against wicked customs. In Deuteronomy 18:10-12 NKJV He says; “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you”.
Over time, we have become numb to these enchantments, thinking to ourselves…”oh it is just for fun and the kids enjoy it so much”. Satan loves to numb our minds. When he accomplishes this, he is winning. As Christians we have been told very specifically not to indulge in areas that cross the lines. Be ware and be empowered in the grace of Jesus.
I would encourage each of you to read the article “Halloween” and learn what practices for years that we have employed for entertainment that should be completely avoided.

Why Don’t You Turn Back Your Clock?
Time is running out on daylight savings time. Shortly, we will be turning back our clocks and returning to standard time. Our days will become shorter and our energy consumption will likely go up. Changing our clocks and watches is a relatively easy task and we have become accustomed to making these changes twice a year.
What if you were able to turn back the clock in your life? How easy could that be? What if you could regain some of the strength and vigor that you had in younger years? What if you could improve your flexibility, balance, and energy? I hope you haven’t given in to some of the inevitable consequences of aging…stiff joints, wrinkles, weak muscles, and bad attitudes! If you have, it’s time to snap out of it!
According to Miriam Nelson Ph.D., it is possible to turn back the clock by using strength-training and proper nutrition. In a strength-training study over eight weeks, using elderly nursing home patients, lifting weights three times a week resulted in improved strength by 175 percent. Two patients even discarded their canes. A similar study demonstrated a 14% improvement in balance and a 27% improvement in energy.
Exercise not only has benefits for the physical body but it can also lift depression and ease sleep problems. So, why wouldn’t you want to give it a try? If you are suffering from a lack of energy, desire, focus, or joy, I challenge you to start an exercise program today.
If you can’t afford a gym membership, you can start by at least walking every day and gradually adding in some strength training exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups. If a few frail nursing home patients can turn back the clock and empower their lives, so can you! You might surprise yourself!
Special thanks to Judy I. Terry MPH, for today’s great content!

The Game Just Got Easier…Are You In?
When I first heard the new of Steve Jobs passing away, it reminded me of how fragile life really is. But what really struck me was how Steve lived his life. He was a Maverick. He lived life to the fullest on his own terms. He did it “my way”.
How many of us can say that? Are we living life on our terms or are we living our lives through rose-colored glasses…more worried about public perception than being truly authentic?
You want to expand your tribe through your social media portals. Have you reviewed how you post on Facebook? Have you set your game plan and goals? What are your motives? Remember the motive that inspires the greatest trust is genuine caring…caring about people and caring about your values as well as putting a high level of expectation on the quality of what you do. Is your behavior acting in the best interest of everyone? These are all elements of your authenticity and your credibility.
Results matter! They matter enormously to your credibility. People evaluate your results and performance based on three indicators; past performance, current performance and anticipated performance. Recognizing this is a critical moment in your entrepreneurial mindset. Your past performance is gauged by your reputation and track record for delivering results. Your current performance is solely based on what you can accomplish at this moment in time. This indicator plus your past performance gives your tribe the necessary indicators to evaluate future performance.
Steve Jobs was a Maverick. He lived his life on his terms. He made his share of mistakes, but his single-minded focus was to make computer products that were cutting edge, reliable, innovative and forward thinking. The results he brought to the industry were not only life changing, but ingenious.
Bring your “A Game” to your entrepreneurial endeavors. Focus on what you can do to create authenticity and unstoppable empowerment. Remember…results matter! Be empowered!

Get Ready…Get Set…The Countdown is on to Timeline
The time is almost here…October 1, 2011. Facebook rolls out “Timeline”. I am sure you have heard quite a bit about it already. Believe me, it will be more awesome than you can imagine. It is going to be like your own online biography with a whole bunch of tricks inside. Cool eh?
The question is…are you ready? One super important thing you need to remember is to download all your current Facebook information before October 1. Here is a word to the wise…don’t wait until October 1 to do the download. There is likely to be many procrastinators who will wait until the 11th hr to download their information. There is always the potential for server crashes and data lost during the mad rush. Make sense?
It is super simple to do. Here are some very simple instructions to follow:
- Go to the “Account Settings” of your Facebook account.
- At the bottom of your account settings, click on the link that says to “Download a Copy of Your Facebook Data”.
- You will be directed to the “Start Download Archive” link. Click on the “Start My Archive”.
- You will see a message that reads “Download Archive Pending”. This download could take a while depending on the amount of data on your site so be patient.
- When the download is complete, you will need to enter your password so that Facebook knows that it is really you asking for this personal data. At this point, a compressed file will be downloaded onto your computer for your records and you can save to your hard drive.
If this is confusing, be sure to contact me for additional information. Also, my good friend, Clifton Hatfield has a great video on his website outlining these directions complete with screen casts of the different views that may be beneficial.
Enjoy the changes to Facebook as they evolve. Something tells me that there will be more “big” changes in the near future for Facebook users…so stay tuned. Stay close to our website and follow us on our Facebook page for the latest in news. Be empowered in all you do…

If You Are Not a UFO, Could You Really Be Losing Out?
What sets you apart from the crowd? What brands you as a trusted authority? Are you authentic in the way you portray yourself to others? If you are a Christian, are you fearful of unabashedly letting the world know that Christ is your Savior and that there is power in the blood of the cross? Do you have the fire in your belly to always push through?
Recently, I was talking with one of my friends and we were discussing traits that we respect in successful people. The one thing that both of us feel is a key trait to the“uber” successful people is a humble confidence and the shear determination to always push through no matter what. I call this type of humble confidence being a UFO…“Unidentifiable ‘Fenominal’ Object”.
Real leadership depicts this type of determination. My good friend and business partner, Kary Rogney, depicts this type of leadership. He is a great mentor and always handles his business with humble confidence…never arrogant. Having a mentor like Kary is an incredibly valuable asset toward your goal of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Our team provides you with amazing training and opportunities to succeed.
Maybe it is time you set yourself apart as a UFO. Maybe it is time to join our winning team and really experience first-hand what it is like to be mentored by one of the best. There is no better time than the present to become unstoppably empowered.

Why Facebook Will Make Your Blog Obsolete!
Facebook is changing again and again. People are complaining. They are not happy with the new format. Some have even gone so far as to say that owners of Facebook are insecure and that is why Facebook has seen frequent changes. What is wrong with change? Why are people so hostile? I was discussing these changes with one of my partners earlier today. We came to the conclusion that it is the cry of frustration on the part of individuals who complain about any kind of change in their life. I love what Facebook is doing. Timeline is so cool. It is going to be like your own personal biography…and the “Ticker”. It reminds me of Twitter and the continuous feed. We both agreed that Facebook must keep evolving and that we must remain on the top of our game to enlighten and educate our tribe of followers. This evolution that is evidenced by the frequent changes seen with Facebook is a word to the wise. Facebook is going to continue to make changes as time goes on. You should take a cue from them and review your online presence. When was the last time you updated your blog? Do your graphics portray that hip, edginess that attracts customers? Are you maintaining that SEO edge by properly integrating key-word rich content that incorporates post tags and hyperlinks to drive traffic? Are you providing great…not good but great, content? If not, then Facebook might just be rendering your blog irrelevant by setting the standard and displaying to the world that they are not going to sit on their proverbial laurels. What will it take to spin your wheel? What convincing do you need to review your online presence in order to maintain that “edge”? Do you want to have an unstoppably empowered online presence? Or…are you comfortable letting your online presence fade into blogging irrelevance? The choice is yours. Better yet, contact my good friend and business partner…Eric Bryant at Core Zero Creative, for a comprehensive consultation on the current relevance of your blog. Do it today and start on the road to blog empowerment. Don’t let Facebook’s changes render you irrelevant.

What Your Network Marketing Up-line Mentor Does Not Want You to Understand About Social Media
How many of you network marketers start out in the business all fired up and work your tails off for 6 months to a year doing everything your up-line mentor tells you to do and you see very little ROI? Does this sound eerily familiar?
You have heard all the party lines and believe me, they are the same. “We have the best compensation plan…our company is debt free…you are at the ground floor of this opportunity” etc.… I have had numerous companies pitched to me over the years and inevitably it is the same story. They try to squelch anyone who uses different methods than what they teach to accomplish their goals. This philosophy drives many potentially successful network marketers out of the business. Many of them fail, because they quit and never fulfill their dreams.
It is called control, all under the name of a system. Your up-line mentor wants you to duplicate what he or she is doing, rather than finding a more efficient way to accomplish whatever goals you have set for yourself. Now, I am not saying you should not follow their lead and not be “duplicable”. I am saying that you should not limit the route you take within a system to push through and succeed.
Incorporating good principles of social media into your marketing plan greatly enhances your ability to create and maintain new customers. You should have a Facebook fan page dedicated to your business. It should be SEO friendly. It should have really cool graphics and a call to action. You should have a Twitter account and incorporate a custom background on your profile. Twitter is an incredible way to build a following.
It is about branding YOU…not the company you represent. They want you to brand them…not yourself. You have to ask yourself this question, “What happens if I spend my time branding the company I represent and they go out of business”? Think about it…you spend all this time promoting the company…not yourself and they go out of business. What have you gained?
That being said, it is important to have a great Wordpress blog with your own domain name that gives you the flexibility to define yourself independently of the company you represent, while at the same time have a portal that connects you directly to the replicated site that your company gives you to “promote”. Google does not like replicated websites. When the search engines and spiders discover that a site is replicated, they completely ignore it and you will never get any organic traffic.
Developing a social media platform to engage other like-minded professionals will aid you in building a reputation as a trusted authority in whatever business you involve yourself. You are allowing the rest of the blogosphere access to what YOU are doing and access to YOU. This is an essential element of empowering your business.
In my next post, I will relate this to list building and why this is the most critical aspect of your business.
Yours In Success…
